Maybe CC was the wrong name

She is mean to the other kids. And sometimes, she's mean to me.

The moustache may represent a different world history figure.

She may have us goose-stepping towards Paris tomorrow.

nine inch nails

Sometimes when I listen to NIN, all I can think about is escaping. The days grow longer and more repetitive. Everything seems confused and out of sync. It makes me want to run away and not know.

But, that's the trick. To face the absurdity of our daily reality is to walk through and bear it's unending drone. To run away is to be a coward. To trudge through it is to be a soldier. To find the nuggets of gold in it is to be a seeker. I choose to be a seeker.

Another Day in Paradise

Well, doesn't this just beat all. I have a great day at work where the lesson I taught went over well, my theater kids had a blast working on their original film projects, and my back actually didn't hurt as much.

Then the battery died on Becky's American made GM car. I want a free "bailout" battery. A 5 year battery dead in 3. I just got "Bushed".

Oh well, it's just money. By the way, I'm all for high-speed public transportation. Then cars aren't necessary, and we can sleep all the way to work.

Sometimes I think my wife's car runs on Windows.

Have a nice night.

Open House

Open house tomorrow. Gotta clean the room. I've never really liked open house. It's like an improvisational commercial. Be nice, and sometimes grit your teeth as you smile. It is fun to see the families your students come from. Good intel. With that, good night.

Her Name

By the way, her name is C. C. Charlie Chaplin's initails. Gotta love her moustache.

Miss C. C.

Miss C. C. Gets used to her new family. Slowly. She's something else and is trying to stake her place with the other "kids".

Jaston Williams' One Man Show at the Lubbock Civic Center

Jaston Williams performed the debut of his new one-man show at the Lubbock Civic Center tonight. "Blame it on Valentine, Texas" was a rousing triumph and received a standing ovation upon its conclusion. The show was a hilarious and often deeply moving recollection of his life growing up in West Texas through his present day parenting of his adopted China born son Song. The large crowd was treated to an unforgetable evening by a storyteller at the pinnacle of his craft. This performance, along with the workshops he taught while visiting Lubbock, was a gift from Mr. Williams as a fundraiser to support the Lubbock Community Theatre. Being associated with LCT, all I can say is, "Thank you Jaston. Thank you for sharing your genius with us and for your generosity towards LCT with the work you gave us this week. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We hope to see you in Lubbock again real soon.".

Da Chairman

Chairman Miao looks upon his domain.

All is good.

Spoiled.

Storms coming in

We have thunderstorms coming in to Lubbock.

Hopefully we'll get some rain.

Felt like late spring in Lubbock today.

The Llano Wine & Chocolate Festival

The wine & chocolate festival was a lot of fun.

My wife met a chocolate Indian she could not resist.

A Few Pics from the TCEA Trip

The trip to Austin for the TCEA 2009 convention was a blast. Hopefully, our school district will be able to implement some of the amazing technology displayed this week.

Here are a few pics of some products/ideas that caught my attention

Top Left: Asus EeePC Touchscreen Desktop.
Top Right: Adobe Booth Presentation. (I won a free copy of Adobe CS4 Design Standard!)
Left: Portable Microscope connected via USB to a laptop, scanning a container of fruit flies.

On the Shuttle

Mobile Blogging from here.

This is the First night of the convention I haven't had to drive back.

It takes longer, but the bus driver has to deal with the traffic, not me.

Microscopes are cool

Neat portable microscopes that connect to any computer at TCEA Austin. These would be fun in our classrooms!

New blog. Maybe I'll keep this one up to date. At the TCEA Convention in Austin, TX. Lots of toys to look at and play with.

I hope our district gets to use a lot of them.

Here's a fun Picture of one of the other teachers on the trip at the Texas Instruments booth wearing some stylin' 3D glasses.
